How to Audition

ADRIENNE ELLIS

Audio Books

Everything you need to know about ACX/Audible from picking the right books, auditioning, uploading demos, and uploading a finished product.

  • Twistedwave – DAW recording software
  • Creating your “signature voice”
  • Creating believable Characters
  • Finding your niche (Promo, Industrials etc.)

Basic stage acting for VO actors

  • How to breathe properly and support your voice. Stage actors didn’t have microphones so needed to project without harming their vocal chords.
  • Movement for the actor. A lot of animation today uses the VO actor’s movements and gestures to create the character during the animation stage.
  • Focus. Various methods used to enable the actor to block out everything around them and be able to create a “real world” that they inhabit while recording in a plain booth.

Having a B. A. in Theatre (Acting) from UCLA as well as the coveted M. F. A. in acting (only 6 women per year are admitted to the UCLA acting program), this wide breadth of training enables me to customize lessons to your individual needs.
